VA Tech | 30 Building Study for All Gender Restrooms

About

In 2021, Virginia Tech commissioned 5 Design to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study aimed at identifying, conceptually designing, and budgeting for All-Gender Restrooms (AGR) in 30 prioritized academic buildings on the Blacksburg campus. Recognizing the university’s commitment to including AGR in all new major projects, 5 Design undertook this study over 18 months, conducting thorough onsite investigations and collaborating closely with the University's AGR Taskforce, which included representatives from the student body, faculty, and leadership.

The final study document provides a detailed investigation, complete with conceptual designs and cost estimates, offering a clear roadmap for future renovations that will support Virginia Tech's inclusive and forward-thinking approach to campus facilities.
